SOM Learning Spaces
QUICK VIEW of Extracurricular, Relaxation & Support Spaces
To support the medical education program and its students, the educational facilities include three 260-seat lecture halls, 12-48 seat multi-discipline laboratories, 12-25 seat classrooms, and 3 computer labs with a total of 165 seats. An Anatomy Dissection Laboratory with 64 stations, a state-of-the-art 24-room clinical skills center, and a 35-seat surgical training suite round out the learning facilities. A fitness room, a recreational lounge, a relaxation room, a music room, and a meditation space are exclusively available for student use. Additionally, the Shiffman Medical Library is located within the medical school which has a multitude of additional student spaces.
SOM Room Management
LSS Laboratory Services is also responsible for the equipment and coordinates repair and maintenance of the multidiscipline laboratories, Mazurek classrooms, and Mazurek computer labs. Spaces are inspected on a daily basis. However, if you are aware of a problem please report it to the Laboratory Services office by emailing lss@med.wayne.edu or by calling (313) 577-1431.
SOM Room Reservations
Reservation requests on behalf of the SOM should be made online by accessing the EMS Room Reservation System at https://ems.wayne.edu. This system requires a WSU Access ID (ab1234) and password, if you do not have WSU AccessID but have a legitimate need to reserve a space, contact the Learning Spaces and Support Office by emailing lss@med.wayne.edu or by calling (313) 577-1431.

Audiovisual Services & Support (SOM)
Audiovisual services include the setup, pickup, operation, and maintenance of all types of audiovisual equipment including but not limited to LCD data/video projectors, video players/monitor units, laptop computers, and conferencing phone systems.

Computing & Information Technology (C&IT)
The team has support staff across campus to provide personal and customized support to Wayne State schools, colleges, and departments.
