Learning Spaces and Support Unit
Learning Spaces and Support (LSS) is a unit within the Medical Education Support Group. We provide duplication & distribution of course materials, in addition to wide-ranging support for our SOM learning spaces (Computer Labs, Classrooms, and MD-Labs), Recreational & Relaxation Lounges, the Music Room, Fitness Room, and Meditation Spaces. LSS manages SOM room reservations, medical supplies & equipment rental, in addition to a myriad of other education-related services for the medical curriculum including the SOM Distribution Center, and management of the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) trainings.
The division consists of two areas, each with responsibilities related to the education and research mission of the school. The main office is responsible for the overall operation. This office oversees the duplication and distribution of medical student lab guides and related materials. The office is also responsible for student, staff, and faculty requests regarding the teaching program.
The Laboratory Services unit is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of a diverse array of learning session setups for medical educational activities. Additionally, the group maintains the equipment and facilitates repair and maintenance of the 12 Multi-Discipline Laboratories (MD Lab), 12 Mazurek Classrooms, and 3 Mazurek Computer Labs that serve as the home base for our first and second-year medical students.
While each unit within the division has unique responsibilities, all Learning Spaces & Support team members are ready and able to assist you with any issue related to the teaching program. If we cannot assist you with your specific request or question, we will connect you with someone who can!
