School of Medicine Laptop Requirement & Curriculum Applications
WSU-SOM Computer and Laptop Requirements
Wayne State School of Medicine (WSU SOM) requires all incoming medical students to have a laptop computer that meets or exceeds specific technical specifications. Several computer programs and web-based applications are required for medical education. To use these applications, students must ensure that their personal laptops meet these specifications.
WSU SOM does not require a specific brand of laptop computer. Both Windows and Apple computers are acceptable; however, iPads, Chromebooks, and non-Pro versions of Surface tablets are NOT supported as performance instability can occur within applications on devices that don't meet the specifications.
