Boards and Beyond

"Boards & Beyond (Step 1-Preclinical)" is available to M1 and M2 Wayne State School of Medicine students.

Boards & Beyond provides an online virtual curriculum of video libraries and question banks that works as a supplement to your existing lesson plans. They focus on helping students build a solid foundation of understanding that is useful in traditional classrooms, flipped classrooms, preparation for USMLE or COMLEX exams, clinical rotations, and remedial review.

The Boards & Beyond resource can be accessed by 300 concurrent users within the WSU SOM network, it is not limited to a specific class, however, the content within the "Step 1-Preclinical" membership is focused on the foundation of knowledge medical students' need for their pre-clinical studies and the USMLE Step 1 exam. Step 1-Preclinical subscriptions include access to more than 440 videos and more than 2300 USMLE-style quiz questions. Each question is associated with a specific video and category and can also be used in building a custom quiz. Topics within each category mirror those of First Aid for the Boards, and you will find references for relevant First Aid pages associated with most videos.

The Boards & Beyond resource is an IP-Authenticated Subscription; therefore, the resource is verified through the WSU network. You will not be able to access "Boards & Beyond" off-campus unless you connect to the WSU network, which will require the set-up of multi-factor authentication and the VPN (Global Protect).
