OneCard Attendance
Faculty
- To add/update required activities to the student calendar, request attendance to be tracked, and or receive attendance reports, contact the UME and Curricular Affairs Office.
- To confirm all your required course activities are correctly scheduled (REQUIRED activities must be denoted on student calendars), contact the UME and Curricular Affairs Office.
- Students will need to contact the UME and Curricular Affairs Office for all attendance questions and or concerns.
- All excused absences are required to be approved by SOM Counselors.
- Please notify the MESG-EdTech Unit mededsupport@med.wayne.edu of all OneCard hardware and or OneCard issues and or concerns.
Students
- Attendance can be required (recorded and tracked) using the OneCard swiping system in all SOM Learning Spaces.
- It is your responsibility to be aware of all required activities.
- During required activities that require attendance tracking (using your OneCard), you must ensure that you get a green light when swiping. If you don't receive a green light, try to swipe again (try a different direction, etc.).
- If the OneCard and or hardware does not appear to be functioning properly, email mededsupport@med.wayne.edu to notify the MESG-EdTech Unit of hardware and or OneCard issue concerns.
- All excused absences are required to be approved by SOM Counselors.

OneCard Replacement (Inoperative, Lost, or Stolen)
Inoperative WSU OneCard:
Contact the Medical Education Support Group (Suite 231 Mazurek) by emailing mededsupport@med.wayne.edu with a description of your issue, in addition to a screenshot/photo of the front and back of your OneCard.
Lost or Stolen WSU OneCards:
- Lost or stolen cards should be deactivated immediately.
- By calling the OneCard/Parking Service Center during normal business hours at 313-577-CARD or Academica.
- Or by logging into http://academica.wayne.edu
- Search for “Access OneCard Account”
- Deactivate card, under the PERSONALIZE options
- If your card was stolen, a police report is necessary for the OneCard Office to waive the $20.00 replacement fee.
To Get a New/ Replacement OneCard:
- To get a replacement OneCard you will need to make an appointment or by joining the virtual line found here > https://onecard.wayne.edu/ at the OneCard Office. The OneCard & Parking Service Center is located within the Welcome Center, W. Warren. Room 257.
- A new OneCard will be issued to you for a $20 fee. Acceptable forms of payment include Cash or through your Academica account.
- Inoperative/demagnetized cards can be replaced for free. The OneCard Office will waive the $20.00 replacement fee.
Received a Replacement (New) OneCard:
IMPORTANT - New OneCards must be recoded for access to Mazurek (secure building access), attendance tracking, and the SOM Fitness Room.
- Mazurek (Secure Building Access) - Faculty & Staff must visit WSU Public Safety (6050 Cass Ave) to have their OneCard recoded.
- Email Shari Dowdell (WSU Public Safety) at sdowdell@wayne.edu to confirm that your security access is on file or for any additional access questions.

- Attendance Tracking - must notify the Medical Education Support Group (Suite 231, Mazurek) by emailing mededsupport@med.wayne.edu. * Please include a photo or screenshot of the front and back of your new OneCard.
- SOM Fitness Room - Students, faculty, and staff must email mededsupport@med.wayne.edu (Medical Education Support Group, Suite 231, Mazurek) to regain access to the SOM Fitness Room. Include your access request and a photo or screenshot of the front and back of your OneCard.
⚠️ If your NEW OneCard number is not added to the attendance database, your attendance swipes will NOT be tracked in the attendance system, and you will be considered absent.
