Students

  • Attendance can be required (recorded and tracked) using the OneCard swiping system in all SOM Learning Spaces.
  • It is your responsibility to be aware of all required activities.
    • During required activities that require attendance tracking (using your OneCard), you must ensure that you get a green light when swiping. If you don't receive a green light, try to swipe again (try a different direction, etc.). If the OneCard and or hardware does not appear to be functioning properly, email mededsupport@med.wayne.edu to notify the MESG-EdTech Unit of hardware and or OneCard issue concerns.
    • All excused absences are required to be approved by SOM Counselors.
    • Please notify MESG-EdTech Unit mededsupport@med.wayne.edu of all OneCard hardware and or OneCard issue and or concerns.

OneCard Replacement (Lost/Stolen & Damaged)

  • Getting a Replacement Card

    • To get a replacement card, you will need to fill out the Replacement Card Form, available on the table outside the OneCard office. The fee for a new card is $20 payable by check, cash, or money order only. If your card was stolen, a police report number is necessary for the OneCard office to waive the $20 replacement fee.
  • Re-Encoding/ Updating for Building Access (Mazurek elevator)
    • Call Public Safety and verify that you have SOM building access, 313-577-2056.
  • If you have WSU-SOM building access:
    • Go to WSU Public Safety (6050 Cass Ave) to have your card encoded for building access and OneCard PIN
  • If you do not have WSU-SOM building access:
    • Fill out the Access Request Form available from Student Affairs (315 Mazurek) and obtain a signature
    • Turn the form into the Facilities & Support Services Office (1102 Scott Hall)
    • Go to WSU Public Safety (6050 Cass Ave) to have the OneCard encoded for building access and to receive your PIN. Before going, call and verify they have received your Access Request Form.

After receiving a new OneCard:

You must get OneCard re-coded for Attendance Tracking & Fitness Room Access.

  • Send an email to MESG-EdTech mededsupport@med.wayne.edu with a photo of the front and back of your new OneCard to get it re-coded.
    • If your OneCard number is not updated in the attendance database, swiping for attendance at required activities will NOT be tracked accurately and you WILL be considered ABSENT.
